Welcoming Our New Managing Director: Adrien Bechonnet
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Adrien Bechonnet as the new Managing Director of Rubis Asphalt Nigeria (Ringardas Nigeria Limited).
Adrien has over 25 years of international experience in the energy sector, including more than a decade serving as Managing Director and Board Member across multiple markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe with TotalEnergies.
He has led large-scale country operations in Lebanon, Cameroon, and Togo, overseeing extensive retail networks, LPG operations, bitumen plants, aviation fuel businesses, supply chain systems, and strategic joint ventures. Across these markets, he consistently delivered strong results, restoring market leadership, improving profitability, strengthening governance frameworks, and driving operational efficiency even in highly challenging economic environments.
In Lebanon, he successfully steered operations through one of the country’s most severe economic crises, regaining market leadership and returning the business to sustained profitability. In Cameroon, he drove consistent annual growth while reinforcing compliance and corporate governance standards. In Togo, he transformed a stagnant operation into a high-performing market leader, doubling net operating income and significantly increasing market share.
Adrien’s leadership style combines strategic clarity, strong stakeholder engagement, operational discipline, and a deep understanding of downstream energy markets. He has also served on multiple boards, chaired industry associations, and built strong partnerships with government and regulatory institutions across the regions where he has worked.
He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Arts et Métiers Paris Tech, with additional specialization in economics and finance from ESSEC Business School. He has completed executive programs in leadership, compliance, risk management, and renewable energy within HEC, Harvard Business School, and IFP School
